Criteria

MEDIA INDEPENDENT PRACTITIONERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (MIPAN) MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

Any Nigerian limited liability company shown to be reputable and to have existed for at least 3 years and carrying on business as a Media Independent Practitioner is eligible to be a member of the Association provided that:

The Chief Executive Officer or the Managing Director of the company applying to be a member of the Association shall

  • Not be less than an Associate Member of the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria (APCON) and
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a media advertising and marketing business or outfit.
  • The Heads of Department (such as Media Planning and Buying; Strategic Planning; and Monitoring & Compliance) of the company applying to be a member of the Association shall be a member of APCON.
  • Any company applying to become a member of the Association shall apply in writing to the Association and the written application shall be supported by a resolution of the applicant company authorizing the applicant company to apply for membership of the Association.
  • The company applying to become a member of the Association shall nominate not more than (4) of its Directors and/or Management Staff to represent the applicant company in the Association. Each person nominated to represent the company in the Association shall submit two recently taken passport photographs of himself/herself.
  • The Executive Council of the Association shall consider the application for membership and the decision of the Council shall be finally provided that where the Council refuses a membership application, it shall give reasons to the applicant for refusing the application.

MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA FOR DIGITAL AGENCIES INTO MIPAN

Any Nigerian limited liability company has shown to be reputable and to have existed for at least 1 years (CAC document must be presented)

The applicant agency must have been in actual business operations in this period. 

Other Requirements

  • The Chief Executive Officer or the Managing Director of the digital agency/company applying to be a member of the Association shall:
  • Not be less than an Associate Member of the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria (APCON) in line with Government requirement for marketers. and
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a media advertising, digital, and marketing business or outfit.
  • The Heads of Department (such as Strategy, Planning, Buying, Content development; Social Media, Measurements, etc.) of the company applying to be a member of the Association shall be a member of:
      • Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) – Mid-level & above
      • Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) – Digital
      • Full member of Nigerian Institutes of Marketing
  • Members of staff of any Digital company must also have one or more of the following certifications
      • DMI Certification
      • Google Certification
      • Facebook Blueprint
  • The Company applying to become a member of MIPAN shall have invested in Digital planning tools, with evidence of subscription in the last 6 months as follows
      • Social Listening Tools – Sprout Social, Hoote Suite, Sprinklr & Fanpage Karma
      • Campaign Management Tools – Google Ad words, Facebook Manager, Programmatic Trading Desks, Twitter Ad Manager, DBM etc.
      • Reporting Tools – Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics & Insights 
      • Compliance Tools – MOATS, SEM Rush, Google Tag Manager
  • Any company applying to become a member of the Association shall apply in writing to the Association and the written application shall be supported by a resolution of the applicant company authorizing the applicant company to apply for membership of the Association.
      • The availability of the following Nigerian media industry planning tools & data is an extra and not mandatory – AMPS, RAMS & TAMS, or any relevant one.
      • The company applying to become a member of the Association shall nominate not more than (3) of its Directors and/or Management Staff to represent the applicant company in the Association. Each person nominated will represent the company in the Association shall submit two recently taken passport photographs of himself/herself.
      • The Executive Council of MIPAN shall consider the application for membership and the decision of the EXCO shall be finally provided that where the Council refuses an application for membership, it shall give reasons to the applicant for refusing the application

  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a media advertising, digital, and marketing business or outfit.
  • The Heads of Department (such as Strategy, Planning, Buying, Content development; Social Media, Measurements, etc.) of the company applying to be a member of the Association shall be a member of: 
  • Digital Marketing Institute (DMI)  – Mid-level & above
  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) – Digital
  • The Company applying to become a member of MIPAN shall have invested in Digital planning tools such as 
  • Sprout Social, Hoote Suite, and Social Baker, with evidence of subscription in the last 6 months of business operations. The digital lead 
  • IAB Digital Media Buying Certification for media sales, ad operations, data solutions & media buying by key officers of the agency/company (IAB – Interactive Advertising Bureau)
  • Any company applying to become a member of the Association shall apply in writing to the Association and the written application shall be supported by a resolution of the applicant company authorizing the applicant company to apply for membership of the Association.
  • The availability of the following Nigerian media industry planning tools & data is an extra and not mandatory – AMPS, RAMS & TAMS, or any relevant one.
